About
I am a teacher, currently serving in a district support role for teachers in a North Texas Public School District. I am passionate about adult learning that meets the expectations we have for our classrooms and models the best practices we know empowers learners.
In the spring of 1998, I was a college freshman without a major, purpose, or faint idea of what I was going to be when I “grew up”. That same semester I packed my bags and headed around the world to teach English in China.
I returned six weeks later with a few souvenirs and a goal for my life. I fell in love with learning. I fell in love with students. I fell in love with teaching. I knew that I would not be happy until I had a classroom and students of my own. The following semester, I enrolled in a Teacher Education Program.
Fast forward almost 20 years…
- I am still trying to figure out what I want to be when I “grow up”.
- I am still willing to take big risks.
- I am still happiest when I am teaching (my students are just more mature).
- I am still learning.
Be kind. Enjoy the process.
Learn something everyday. Choose joy.
